The Louisville KY golf course, Valhalla, has been making a lot of improvements over the past couple of years to make itself ready for the 2008 Ryder Cup to be held later this year in September.

Of the 18 holes, 13 of them saw substantial changes - 4 of which have new greens entirely.  Most of this work has been done since Valhalla hosted the 2004 Senior PGA Championship.

But more recently, Valhalla has been working quite steadily since October to make itself ready.  They’ve modified 3 of the newly rebuilt greens have been modified.

The course designer is Jack Nicklaus and his collective, and no changes were made without their approval.

The Valhalla Golf Course superintendent, Mark Wilson has stated that they are now finished with their efforts for the course in preparation for the 2008 Ryder Cup, and are now concentrating their efforts on getting all of the spectator and crowd sides of things to accommodate them.

All in all, it should be another landmark event for the Louisville KY golf communities to showcase that there are world class facilities in Louisville.
