The Shelbyville KY newspaper, The Sentinel-News, had an article in their Friday January 25 2008 edition, written by the new President of the Shelby County KY Chamber of Commerce.  In the article, it was re-iterated the Chamber’s mission statement which is to support commerce & promote growth in order to enhance life in Shelby County.

The President went on to emphasize the importance of communication.  Part of that communication effort that is being realized is by having an article from the Shelby County Chamber appear each month in The Sentinel-News called “Chamber Chat”.  Additionally, they have been requesting feedback from its members.  Last summer, there was a survey sent out and requested information for areas of improvement and recommendations from its membership base.

For your information, some of the upcoming events for the Chamber over the next month are as follows:

January 31 - Program Committee meeting

February 1 - Education Committee meeting

February 5 - Membership Committee meeting

February 7 - Quarterly Luncheon with Dr. Gregory Gillum

February 12 - Board of Directors meeting

February 18 - holiday - closed for President’s Day

February 19 - Business After Hours by A.T.&T Wireless

February 21 - Young Leaders Institute

February 28 - Marketing Committee meeting

As you can see, its going to be quite a busy month with lots of activities and events for setting up for this year 2008.
