The St. James Court Art Fair opens today in Louisville Kentucky. This show has been named the Best Fine Art & Design Show in the United States 3 of the past 4 years by Sunshine Artist Magazine. [It was a landslide in this year's vote: The St. James Art Fair received more than TWICE as many votes as the 2nd place festival.]

The show is open Friday October 5, 2007 and Saturday October 6, 2007 from 10:00 am - 6:00 pm. And is open Sunday October 7, 2007 from 10:00 am - 5:00 pm.

Admission is free and will be going rain or shine. One important note: no pets are allowed, so keep your pets at home!

The show is held in historic Old Louisville south of Central Park on St. James Court and Belgravia Court, as well as the adjacent blocks of Magnolia Avenue and 3rd & 4th streets.

750 artists are expected to be in attendance. The St. James Art Fair has been an annual first weekend in October event for 40 years in Louisville KY.

Weather forecast for this weekend is expected to by record setting highs, with temperatures in the 90 degree range, so be sure to bring water, wear sunscreen, and you might even consider a hat, or an umbrella to help create some shade to get some relief.

Regardless of the hot weather forecast, expectations are that it will be a very successful event. Two schools of thought are in mind for purchasing. The first is, get there early, so you can snatch up some unique pieces before some else is able to purchase them. The second school of though is show up late on Sunday so you can make some deals from vendors that would rather make a sale then re-pack all of their merchandise. Though, I suppose there may be a school of thought. Show up early AND late and hit everything across the board.

Its a wonderful event, and very popular with the Louisville Kentucky community as well as across the nation and even the world. If you enjoy art and the various unique items that can be produced by various craftsman, you don’t want to miss this event. And even if you aren’t a big art fan - there is still plenty of activities to hold most person’s interest.
